Scotch and threat

What is the meaning of Scotch and threat which Fred Elliott asks for in the Rovers Return in Coronation Street? I know what Scotch is, of course, what what is threat?

It's a negative exageration. Essentially a large sctotch and threaten to put some water in.

The idea is that there should be virtually no water involved at all, rather as if the barman just shows the water-jug without actually putting any of it into the whisky-glass. In other words, it's as if it is only a threat of action rather than real action.

I should point out though that I don't actually watch corrie or any soaps!

Loosehead..I don't get your reason for pointing out that you don't watch Corrie or any soaps..unless you think that it somehow makes you better than people who do..........I enjoyed your answer until that point..sorry.
