Monday. A bank holiday. It's been raining for most of the night, it looks like it's happy and has no intention of stopping. I'm glad I've got a tumble dryer! The barometer is reading 29.53, down from 30.18. Quite a drop in a few hours. I won't be out for long this morning! I was planning to down to the canal, I think I'll give it a miss!

Have a happy day everyone.

Our house is old and very cold so more often or not we have a fire going most days all year.

The price you pay for having a lovely old house islay, worth it I would think.

All the married quarters we lived in as sprogs had coal fires, toast, crumpets, chestnuts, to name a few.

'morning, raining last night when we went to bed 02:00ish, everything looks nice and fresh this morning in the sunshine, still cool though. The sky is 50/50 blue and grey so difficult to work out what we'll end up with.
Hope all is well.
Question Author
Morning balders. The sky is a uniform grey here. It's stopped raining, but just to get it's breath back methinks.
morning Balders xx you need to get to bed at a proper time ! tut !
Yes WBM ours did, huge black things with individual long glass that kept breaking meaning we had to do the foil fix and the go to the families office for new glass!!
Oh and cleaning daily and polishing weekly so that when it came to marchout it was easier!!

That is a proper time ;o)
Question Author
Sounds about right islay. But we never had the glass. In one we had a 'proper' kitchen range, fir box in the middle, two ovens on the left and water tank on the right. The whole of the top was for cooking on. Most of the household waste went into the firebox.
