Trident Doesn't Work.

A test firing of the UKs defense missile system in June was a failure. Apparently due to a cock-up with Google Maps, instead of targetting Russia, it actually hit Rusholme. There were no reports of any damage.

Interestingly, the misfire was hushed up and was not known to the majority of MPs who voted to renew it in July.

The Prime Minister refuses to say whether she knew of the apparent malfunction, when she voted. Asked several times, Mrs May refused to answer.

Should this information have been made known to MPs before they voted?
Would the result have been different if the truth was known?

a) Yes, as a matter off course!

b) Would the result have been different if the truth was known?

Impossible to know.

One failed test does not mean that it doesn't work.W have had Trident long enough for other tests to have been carried out.
I have read the link you posted, I have read it again, then re-read it. nowhere in it can I find any reference to google maps, Russia or rusholme.

have you posted the correct link?
one test balls up does not mean it doesn't work. That's why they do testing.
If you read the article the test took place off the Florida Coast.
If the missile went on the wrong course it sounds more like operator trouble to me; programmed destination co-ordinates and didn't specify E or W, perhaps.
Typo?
Far be it from me to agree with Tora but ...

I agree with Tora :-)
From your link even they don't always go in the right direction.
They're rogue swans.

'Honest' May confirms the next Generation of Trident submarines will be powered by obfuscation.

.

What if they were cross-bred with Russian homing pigeons for example, would that work?
Genius TCL. There's a desk waiting for you at GCHQ.
Navigation package issue, quickly solved and if the fired it somewhere it would blown the living crap out of it. Come now children you understand why these things are tested and updated monthly to stop these things happening, standard modus operandii for all weaponry.

Every time something changes on a system they have to test whether that be the standard 9mm handgun issued as a personal side arm to officers or new shell for a tank to a new mapping system for the navigation package on Trident.

Should they have known? yes it may have expedited it's replacement
it actually hit Rusholme. There were no reports of any damage.

Can you shed any light on that Gronit?
They better not of taken out the Shere Khan.
They should have aimed at Glasgow it would have done billions of pounds of improvements
I counted that she refused to answer this simple question four times in a row !

Mrs Maybe....as in maybe I will answer and maybe I won't !

Reminds me of Paxo and the one with the Touch of the Night about him !
I think all politicians have an in built instinct and fear about answering trap questions by journalists, especially pro opposition ones like Marr. However on this occasion she could have taken the wind right out of it by answering yes or no. Neither answer would have any affect. The fact is I think Trident is unnecessary but lets stop all this "it doesn't work" c0bblers because of a bad result in testing.
