to me, the undies look lovely and teenagers with boobs have to wear something! when i was a teenager (about 20 years ago) i used to love going undies shopping with my mum and was very spoilt in that department (a trend i continue to this day!).....i loved being one of the few lasses that had nice, lacy and matching underwear in a variety of colours that resembled a peacock's tail! i think they are making a mountain out of a molehill - as i stated before, girls have to wear bras and knickers - so why not nice ones? discuss......

oh.....and is it because the article is written by a fusty old man? x
Yes I agree. We have to wear undies so why not make them nice, not the big baggy drawers or bras that look like the Forth Bridge !
I don't see the fuss either.
As said by Mr Rigsby in Rising Damp about his wife's undies. He said she wore "harvest festivals". i.e. all was safely gathered in
stop reading that rag and you'll realise that many things that apparently cause widespread outrage only actually cause outrage to that rag and some of its readers
It's the sort of rant that might carry just a bit more meaning if at the same time as crying out against objectifying young women the DM stopped running, say, its regular "nip slip" features and the like that objectify women...
Bring back liberty bodices! LOL
Oh GM, yes I remember them .VERY uncomfortable with, if I recall, rubber buttons? We also wore vests that came down to our knees and had to be tucked into our knickers, big navy blue ones with a pocket for the hankie. Who the devil keeps a hankie in their knickers ?
The teenagers of yesteryear, say in the 50's and 60's were not sexual predators as are today's teenagers and underwear was functional, not as todays teenager's underwear which seems to be a sexually provocative itme of clothing.

It was an achievement in the 50's and 60's to see your girlfriends underwear until one had been courting for at least 6 months, but now the teenager of the past 20 years has difficulty in keeping her knickers on.
Despite contraception, the UK is the teenage pregnancy country of Europe and one can see why when you read about stories such as this.

No, I agree with the OP....I don't see the fuss, sexually enhanced underwear for teenagers is most appropriate.
What a load of nonsense, they are not exactly peephole bras.
if young girls want to look pretty in their underwear, why the hell not!
sheepskin lined liberty bodices and Chilproof vests for me & georgies mum ! at least they kept you warm when a family member was hogging the coal fire.
janbee the pocket in your knickers was for keeping half sucked boiled sweets in !when you retrieved the sweet it had shreds of navy blue fleece on it ! but they still tasted good at playtime !
Nothing to see here- move right along.

Utterly ridiculous fuss about nothing.

Oh! right. That's that then.....;-)

Given what they could have looked like, I think that's quite a modest and pretty range. I was a teenager longer ago than the OP ( more than 40 years ago) and I would have worn similar designs, in fact I did, and my mother approved.
Does everything have to be ******* pretty?
Of course not, your language isn't for a start!
Looking back, my underwear as a pre teen then a teenager were far prettier than the ones I wear now! :-(

No! I wouldn't have guessed.
