I have watched two episodes of this new series on Sky Atlantic & I must say that I am appalled at the bad language that is being allowed to pollute our airwaves. Every other word between both male & female characters is the F word & also once the C word is used by one foul mouthed female. Now I have had several holidays in the United States & I can categorically say that I have never come across this kind of bad language in real life in any of the states I visited, I can only conclude that the programme is showing us the dregs of American society & yet it is supposed to be taking place in a normal everyday town. If this kind of movie is being shown around the world, I am beginning to wonder if some Islamic feelings towards the West isn't perhaps justified.

And yet you watched TWO episodes, lol.

I'm about halfway through the series and I find it quite good personally.

I can only say boo that you are easily pleased. I watched the second episode to see if there was any improvement, there wasn't. I have deleted future episodes from my planner. I can live without the filth.

I've watched the first two episodes, and I'm still confused! I'll probably keep watching, but it hasn't sparked into life for me so far. None of the characters are very charismatic or interesting. It's on HBO in the States, so that usually means swearing, nudity, etc, regardless of whether it's relevant to the story. Although I've heard far worse in some films.

PiperH - the C word was mentioned a few times in the first episode, and the F word numerous times.
C word was mentioned a few times

Conservative?
I also watched the first two, mainly to see if it got any better. The weirdos in white who don't speak reminded me of the odd scenes in Lost when we left with no answers. Agree with whiskeryron, the language is not necessary to enjoy a programme. I shall not bother with any more.
