I am having trouble getting my cheque for £50 from winning the Mystery Word in the skeleton Crossword in the middle of September. I got through to them by phone 2 weeks ago on 0208 612 7000 and after speaking to 6 different people got a bloke called Andy who told me the chewue had been sent but must have gone astray but if it hadnt been cashed in they would send me another one. I have heard nothing since and when I try to ring back I am shifted from pillar to post and eventually it cuts out. Is there something fraudulent going on here. Has anyone else had this sort of trouble?

If the Daily Express wanted to be fraudulent I think it would invent the names of winners. It is possible someone within the organisation or within the post delivery system could intercept the cheque but as no-one has cashed the cheque I doubt that has happened. I think it's probably just incompetence. It isn't unusual though for recipients to have to wait several months for their prize- I think some companies probably just process them in one go every 3 months or so.
If you ring again ask for Charlotte Chambers who sends out the cheques.
