It is from Oscar Wilde's "Importance of being Ernest". Cicely declares that she calls a spade a spade. Gwendolen claims she has never seen a spade.
Read the play - it would take too long to put in all the quotations. The play is probably on the Internet somewhere - it must be long out of copyright by now.
