I have an order of cupcakes. My first order, which could lead to more business. This is a company asking for edible images on cupcakes. I have to order the edible images and will cost me £30 in total to order, I may get an order of 50-100 cupcakes. How much should I charge per cupcake? My first order and have never made and sold them before. I am just starting and have all my paperwork in place, just dragged on due to being so nervous.

1) how much will your ingredients cost?
2) how much time will you need to spend making them
3) if you have your order, how come you don;'t know how many it's for?
It will depend on how many the order is for.....how much are the edible images, for example? You say they wll cost £30 but for how many? You need to add up the cost of each cake with the cost of the picture and take it from there (adding on the ingredients, your time and a bit for profit!)...I think I would be tempted to give a price for 5 cupcakes at a time....e.g £ 15.00 for 5 if you cost them at £3.oo each. To be clear I am not suggesting this as a price
Work out what constitutes a decent profit on the cupcake alone, and then state as an optional service, an additional £50 (or whatever) on the order if an edible image is required.

I would have to agree with most of their answers here. You need to know the total expenses first before coming up with the retail price. Don't forget your labor as well
Not forgetting market forces.

How much do bog standard bakery cup cakes cost? How do they compare with your basic (without added image) cup cake?

If, for example it doesn't cost you £3 per cup cake and the local comparable ones cost £2.50 you won't get much business unless you have a USP.
Add up ALL your costs, including as, electricity, your time etc. Then double it.
For as, read gas!
