I saw a young-ish women in the Co-op this morning, that appeared to have shaved off her natural eyebrows, and applied them again, using a thick black pencil.

They looked ridiculous and in no way natural......rather in the way Groucho Marx used grease pant instead of a proper moustache.

Any comments from our AB Sisters ?

They do look ridiculous. It's a fad- it will fade out.
When it fades they have them done again.
Sometimes they are tattooed on.
i may have to do that as for no known reason i am losing my eyebrows, i just thought i was imagining it, but there's little left, so i might need to resort to a pencil liner.
It's the fashun innit.
Just go gently, emmie...x
Could it be due to a medical condition...: under-active thyroid OR could she have had chemotherapy for cancer?
i think i'll shave my moustache off and pencil it back in a la poirot
sqad
who me?
Me too, ael:-)
emmie...No......HER (whoever ) she is.
But if it applies to you emmie....then yes.
I find this look as unattractive as the 70s fad for plucking the eyebrows and replacing them with a very thin pencil line.
Its the ones that pencil them in the middle of their forehead that look silly to me.
Lots of celebrity women do this to their eyebrows and I agree with mikey , they do look ridiculous. Wasn't it started by the girls in Essex? I don't think it's got anything to do with losing your eyebrows because you don't need to go mad with the eyebrow pencil, unless you want to make a statement of course.

Its just that it looked startlingly false, and not natural at all....did she look in the mirror first I wonder ?
Thick black ones with bleached hair...
heavily defined eyebrows have been the cosmetic focus for over a year, maybe the fashion has only just reached Wales :-)
It's called a Scouse brow so I believe it might originate from Liverpool.
You're right millie, it is called that. x
I'm going to sound that a horrible snob, but they are fashionable with a certain type of girl who is usually easily led by what is faddy rather than what suits them. They look horrible and are roundly mocked by lots of people at their worst. They are indeed called 'Scouse brows'. There are lots of different types of brow though and everyone ought to choose one to suit them rather than follow fashion on it as bad brows wreck your whole face. Personally I go for hard angle high lift with minimal fill much in the same style as Vivienne Leigh or Hedy LaMarr as that improves nearly everyone but with a slightly thicker look to be suitably contemporary, I wouldn't be seen with a Scouse Brow for all the tea in China.
