Has anyone come across this before? Our cat seems to have become paranoid about crossing part of our lounge carpet. He will jump up on furniture siddle down the side of it or run really fast to get over it. He is also washing quite a lot but in no paricular place. I will take him to the vet if necessary but he seems well in himself and is eating ok. Any ideas anyone?

Please don't take this the wrong way Minty, Carpet Moths!! a friend of ours replaced her living room / beds due to these things, If she would have asked sooner I would have cleaned the carpet for her.
Cats normally have a mad wash if they have fleas. Could be the carpet moths on its skin x i think Advocate from vet is the right thing but not sure. Dont use a spot on from supermarket, go to vet. Good luck.
Blimey! My cat, the neighbour's cat and the cat from down the street have all been doing this over the weekend..
