I am thinking of changing my electric fan oven to a gas one as every time I open the door I get a blast of hot air in my face which is really annoying. Can anyone tell me if gas ovens do this?thanks

No, coz there's no fan
^^^there's no fan, but you still get hot air in the face....but not really "blasted", as such.
I still think you get a blast of hot air out of any oven you open, jmo :)
As tambourine says. There's a waft of warm air when you open one - not a blast. I grew up with a gas oven and used gas until I moved here last year. 15 years on bottled gas in France rather put me off and I like the consistency of electricity now (mains gas is different, of course). I am going to change the electric hob for a bottled gas one - can't stand it and also in the event of power-cuts (which I expect this Winter) I'll at least be able to make a meal!
We have a gas oven and it has a fan .. it blows hot air out all the time it is running.
The other option is to get an oven where the fan can be switched off.
