Yes he was great as were the band.
Yes, he's in his locker.
Knew him so well you didn't even know he's been dead 4 years!

Yep, the last train to Corpseville, was quite a while ago.
2012? That's East Anglia for you.
The article is even dated 2012 !

Did you know World War 2 is over, the Titanic has sunk, and William the Conqueror has won the battle of Hastings?
VHG, did you get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning - or is it just your cold?
The Newmarket Journal is at fault here and its easy to see how trt was confused. At the top of the page it quite clearly says 04/03/16, but the paper is reporting this as if it happened yesterday.
Do't think so Mikey. If that were the case how come it hasn't even made the top 30 stories on the front page

It says right at the start of the article: Published 10:22 Thursday 01 March 2012
Where should I stand so that I can be the umpteenth to point out a simple mistake that's been made often enough before, thereby inflating my own sense of superiority?
Thanks for any help.
You're both right; when you click on trt's link you get the newspaper header with 04/03/16 underneath it. You have to scroll down to see "published Thursday 01 March 2102" underneath the photo. If you click on ff's link the header is the same but no reference to Davy Jones.
Weird how this happened. I checked on other news sources before reading the comments, and couldn't find anything.

trt - this is not the first time this has happened...and like you, I wasn't aware he had died so long ago.
I doubt the Newmarket journal are covering this story again, more like trt saw it on Facebook

trt?
I always felt a bit sorry for Davy, he was the 'lead vocalist' in a band where the guitarist and the drummer both hade better voices than him!

Andy.....I was a big fan of the Monkees when I was a boy on the 60's. The lads were cheeky-chappies and their show was great tea-time fun.

I still like "last Train to Clarksville" !

They come in for a lot stick, because they were a "manufactured" pop group. But I think that they should be given a critical reappraisal, as I now think that they were a lot more talented than they were ever thought at the time.

As a music journalist I would be interested in your view !
