I've got a job which like and the company are friendly and laidback .However , it is zero hrs contract and since Sept i have done majority only 1 day a week.I did not pursue this lack of hours as i was on a probationary period and i assume they wanted to check if i was fully capable of doing the job and perhaps did not want to overload me with work. However, that period has ended and i am still on 1 day per week. What caused me concern was that others get 3 to 4 days per week regularly.I only want max 2days per week max-or even just 5 to 7 days per month.
I don't have face to face contact with the owner(the office is in different part of country) .So i am thinking of attaching a post it note(to make it informal ) along with my worksheets to my manager.Any ideas how to word it? as i don't want to make it sound like a grievance

Just say that you would appreciate more work. Be careful though as it looks as if you don't really want much more. I would suggest be specific about what you do want.
"Just to let you know - I'd like some more hours if possible (perhaps 2 days per week instead of 1), so please keep me in mind when planning the rosters. Thanks".
I want to thank you for my Zero Hour Contract, you know the one that you do not have to pay me Holiday pay, pay my full stamp, Exploit me, give me no rights what so ever, so what do you think? have you any more hours to give me?
Don't put it on a post it. Hand a letter to your manager.

Now that I have successfully completed my probationary period, I would like to increase my hours to two days a week. Could we meet, in the near future, to discuss this change in my working hours? Thank you.
I see from one of your other posts that you want to work less than 16 hours to get Job Seekers Allowance. Part of the deal is that you should be actively looking for work.
(sorry I put this on other post by mistake)
TWR.....zero contract have their advantages too.
To bring the Un employment figures down (1)

Exploit the Worker (2)

It may help the worker with his / her daily routine that's about all I can see in this Ummmm

TWR - i do get holiday pay.
I got holiday pay too which was the average I earned each 1/4 that was paid automatically.

Plenty of work though...
TWR- I love my zero hours contract. I can choose whether to do 35-40 hours or 0 hours. Holiday pay is given but is earned- i.e. only based on hours worked. It doesn't suit everyone but does suit many-particularly students.

Tali- i agree that you should ask for more hours if you want them. If you don't get them look for another employer too-maybe an agency. You can always have tow employers- I have several
Did you manage to make any progress with this please, tali?
