Normal women? Could you define who or what that is AOG before we commence with a debate. Just so we know where you're coming from.
I really loathe this kind of dress. Pretty women that needn't go to this length. It just cheapens the end result.
They look a bit skimpy for a cold November night.
//Celebrities claim they make them look powerful//

I'd say desperate.

Has your photograph been chopped, because I can't see any revealing dress that she is wearing?
Baldric, just to be clear, is your post saying 'this is the face of the woman journo'?
If I've got that correct, can you explain more about the point you're making?

The journo is filling pages in the daily wail, so outrage at something has to be the tagline. They're frocks. Nobody died.
BTW if you examone the construction of this type of frock, much of the apparent 'nude' flesh is nude coloured net fabric, put there to stop the frock falling apart. Be cool. They are actresses and their food is media attention.

I would have thought that obvious, seeing that you are the only one asking me to define a normal woman.

But for you I mean a woman who would not lower themselves or their fellow women as to be seen in public wearing such attire, and I think that includes the majority of women.
So these women are not normal?
AOG, if you had a splendid buff body, and your income depended on you flashing a bit for the press, wouldn't you oblige?
...aaaand it's nothing new. Google images of Jayne Mansfield.
They simply wear them to get the cameras popping and make the front pages.

I don't think they betray or demean anyone really.
^Neither do I.
I'd wear more revealing clothes if I had the figure, but not as revealing as some of those are !!
Some of the dresses are hideous - you would think that someone could tell the young ladies that they look awful.

However some of the dresses are gorgeous and there is no reason that the ladies should not wear them.

However there is one picture of a 'lady' who has stuffed two huge footballs down the front of her dress - tacky!
Nothing new - try young Ada:

In the 1860s that baggy knickers and vest combo was beyond scandalous.
That's a brilliant pic !

Apart from the fact that the press do not pay them,I can see no other reason than self seeking 'just look at me'.

Surely there are limitations to what one is prepared to do for money.

Do not the 'Ladies of the night' dress similar?

/// I'd wear more revealing clothes if I had the figure, but not as revealing as some of those are !! ///

Precisely viv and there is nothing wrong in that, but there are limitations of decency.

Whereas some ladies of certain proportions are quite prepared to walk about with plunging necklines, most would draw a line at walking around topless.
It depends on why they are wearing them -- since it's out of personal choice, I'm not sure there's a problem other than that it's not the style of dress I'd go for myself. Still, it gives the media an excuse to complain about how demeaning such dresses are while also publishing several images to show just how demeaning it all is...
