Never fear Zacs, we have Mr Jelly Spine Dave, the Master of the COBRA meetings.! It's only the Robin starch in his shirts that keeps him upright.
Nothing untrue there. The British Falkland Islanders would of been speaking fluent Spanish by now if not for her leadership. They were also lucky that Corbyn wasn't in the chair back in 1982 also

Good point retro.

"Many a True Word .... ... .. ."
that's rewriting history. The FO were discussing transferring the Falklands to Argentina, and leasing them back, when Maggie was in office; and she withdrew the Endurance - the only British warship anywhere near the islands. Hard to see how Corbyn could have done any worse.
A heavily Armed Warship indeed

HMS Endurance was a Royal Navy ice patrol vessel that served from 1967 to 1991. She came to public notice when she was involved in the Falklands War of 1982.

That decision was based on poor Intel by MI6. Soon rectified.

Corbyn would probably have tried to send flowers to Glatieri with a 'sorry for the confusion' note.
Warship? It was a ruddy ice breaker under navy command. The Royal Fleet Auxillary were more potent than Endurance.
Well she could at least have had a jolly good go, I suppose. But ISIS is a problem too big for the UK to solve no matter how decisive its leader is.

Sometimes Jim, you can be a bit Sheldonesque.
Sometimes?

Thing is I've seen the joke in the image already -- in a different context, as it was attached to a comment written by 'Linda from Great Yarmouth'.
Dealing with foreign issues was about the only thing I can think she had some skill at. That said whether a unilateral move to oppose the Daesh with our military would have been a practical decision, is open to discussion.
Not going into probabilities but Daesh have been allowed to get big. With proper leadership it could of been nipped in the bud before it mushroomed.
Maggie took on a country and won without help from other nations apart from a little sneaky beaky intel supplied by our friend.
she was the only ship near the Falklands, and she was removed. I don't know why Thatcherites are pretending that going from little naval cover to none didn't really matter; they'd be frothing at the mouth if Corbyn did it. And it didn't happen because of poor intelligence, but to save money (that sounds familiar). As for Corbyn writing to Galtieri - I repeat, Britain under Thatcher was already in talks on handing the Falklands over.

To quote Retrocop - with proper leadership the Falklands war could have been nipped in the bud.
Why do people refuse to accept that both red and blue governments were prepared to do a deal over the Falklands?

Intel from whom, retro?
Talbot
Intel from Maggies Special friend across the Pond.It was kept quiet at the time so as the other S. Americans didn't get shirty.

What about Chile?
// 'Linda from Great Yarmouth'. //
