Hi. I am trying to see how a clue was built up:

26 Across, What indicates offbeat part of consignment went yesterday? (6)

The answer was TWENTY

But I am a total loss to see how any of this answer is parsed. Am I looking at ENT coming from part of consignment? and if so where are the rest of the letters in the answer coming from? Does Twenty mean offbeat somehow?

Please try to explain in detail as I often cannot see these if you just present a string of letters like TW ENT (Y) or whatever.

Hope someone can help. Thanking you in advance.

Thank you all very much for those replies.... I see Twenty in the clue now, as last letter of consignment going on through went and first letter of yesterday, but I still don't see why the answer is twenty? Does twenty indicate an offbeat somehow?
