Dd anyone else cry during Pam Ayres' reading of her poem about a boy going off to university? I blubbed like a baby, almost as much as when Andy goes off to college in Toy Story 3. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

didnt see it,but,when my niece and my sister were at that good bye stage..and the family said goodbye the night before? It was really awful:-( We all know it is the next level,but it hurts :-(

I thought it was beautiful Jo. Reminds me of when our eldest set up home with his girlfriend and youngest went off to university. Empty nest syndrome. I'm an avid Countdown fan and have always enjoyed Pam Ayres' wit and sense of fun.

She is great, isn't she waterboatman?

You want your kids to do well and go off and have their lives, but it leaves a hole in your heart when they do.

Anyway, the fact that you are up now reminds me I should go to bed. :)
