I just came into possession of hundreds of pages of ads neatly clipped from magazines of the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Here is one just in time for Easter.

I have absolutely no hope of receiving one for Easter.
My feline friends would have that reduced to sawdust in no time.

I tried to find a funny advert that I saw recently. I couldn't find it but found these instead: http://tinyurl.com/qf8now2

Those are interesting, wolf63.
Have you ever visited the Fedora Lounge? It's a whole website dedicated to the 30's and 40's, plus a bit more.

Like those, wolf, love the one with Sargent Bilko ( Phil Silvers ) advertising cigarettes.
And Ronald Reagan is in there too advertising Chesterfield cancer sticks.

I wouldn't be surprised if I find some of those illustrated in wolf's link in the pile that I have. Haven't had time to go through them all yet, and the guy I got them from is bringing me more tomorrow! Most of the ones I have looked at are in pristine condition.
You used to see in American magazines adverts telling that the Surgeon General smoked and recommended Camel cigarettes.
Changed times.
There is some funny (humorous) and funny (strange) thing out there on the web. I saw a photograph of some guy teaching a toddler how to use a gun.
Sandy - my mother maintained that when she was younger she was told that smoking was good for her. She died at the age of 58 of emphysema.
I'm sorry to hear that, Wolf63.
There was a cigarette sold here, maybe not in the US, Craven 'A', which was said to soothe sore throats.
LOL, just saw an ad on wolfs link of a girl '' Enjoying the benefits of a cordless massager '' !.
sandy, wasn't Craven A advertised as having a cork filter tip.
Tonyav, you're right. It didn't soothe sore throats, according to this it 'will not affect your throat'. The first leader of Pakistan might have disagreed if he'd survived his cancer. He smoked more than 50 of them a day.
Thanks sandy, I thought I could vaguely remember them having cork tips.
They were a bit too upmarket for me. I smoked Woodbine

I just read an ad about Reiss Mens Underwear: " Fighting men in the Pacific know the practical comfort of wearing "Reiss Scandals" so they get first call. If your local dealer is out of stock, blames the Japs."
