After just watching the first episode on 4OD, I can 100% recommend this spine chilling new series and can't wait to see the next episode tomorrow night.
Has anyone else seen it and what did you think? I thought the subtitles would take away from the drama, but it is perfectly timed and eerie, but not 'jump out at you' scary
Very, very intriguing storyline....

(can't help thinking the main character looks a bit like Matt Damon)

Hooked!

glad it's not just me then thugulike :o)

I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I saw the advert I thought oooooh, that looks good
I recorded it and will hopefully watch it in the next couple of days, looking forward to it :)
I enjoyed Salamander, so thought I'd give this a go -thought it was really good (and I don't usually like subtitles!).
I want to see the second episode for sure, given the events in episode 1. It is necessary to suspend disbelief a bit though- the plot device about the journalist and his source was scarcely credible.

Apart from that though- v. interesting start.
Yes, we liked it - we are hooked on these Scandinavian films since watching The Bridge. The subtitles don't detract at all - if anything, I concentrate better because I have to pay attention!

Part 2 tomorrow night.....
One reviewer described the lead character, the journo Peter Veras, as looking like a kind of hybrid of George Costanza, the sidekick from Seinfield, and Clive Anderson, which is slightly unkind but weirdly accurate :)
I never used to watch anything with subtitles until i watched Apocalypto - a brilliant film. Then of course came The Killing, The Bridge, Wallender, Borgen, etc, etc, etc.

This new series has the makings of being on a par with those mentioned and i, too, look forward to the second instalment tomorrow evening.

Cheers Guys, I'll be Googling The Bridge and Salamander later as I've never seen them before.
I know the Mammon episode one plot might be a bit iffy in parts credibility wise, but it has still got me gripped particularly the ending.
And Clive Anderson - yes! thanks LazyGun - I knew I could see someone else in his features :o)
Question Author
... and will be googling all the ones you have mentioned too Ken, many Thanks for the suggestions :-)
@Peas - I would certainly recommend you get hold of both The Bridge and The Bridge 2. Both excellent series.

On a side note; Many people have been highly complimentary of the "nordic noir" influx we have all enjoyed, but many overlook what I consider to be at least as good as these nordic imports, and pre-dated most of them -a French series called "Spiral", now in its 4th or maybe 5th series now. All been very gritty and entertaining.
Question Author
Thanks Lazygun, I'm really starting to build up a list of all the series I want to watch (why I have never heard of half of them before I'll don't know :-)
I've just looked and found the Spiral box sets on amazon cheap, so will probably get them and curl up on a rainy weekend to watch - Thanks for suggesting it.
What did you think of Mammon episode 2? (I'm still intrigued, it's starting to go a bit 'da vinci code' I think)
Cheers for now.
I am saving Mammon 2 till tomorrow evening, Peas :)
Question Author
Ah, I'll shush then ;-)
