Welsh as I am and my Welsh language skills being very limited, I always thought it was Iechyd da, for that's what I was taught.

Yes, but since iechyd is a masculine noun, only da can be used to qualify it. It would be dda with a feminine noun, e.g. noswaith dda.
I am Welsh and if the title of this thread had been written 'properly' I would have had no idea what it said. Understood Yaki Dar perfectly.
