Icelandic PM blames UK for collapse of Kaupthing Bank
Geir Haarde Icelandic PM blamed Britain for the collapse of their biggest bank - Kaupthing.
What was the basis of his accusation?
Also whilst on the subject of Icelandic banks...what was the big attraction of investing in them? Were the rates of interest substancially more than UK banks were offering?

Don't know why KE is blaming UK government, but yes, the interest rates were very attractive and fixed for 12 months.
It topped all the 'best buy' tables for months.

Blame culture. Never your own fault.

If they don't pay up maybe we should go to war with them. We havn't had one of those for at least a year. At least it's closer to home for our troops.
