So BMI baby are to fly their planes near empty , in order to hold on to their slots at Heathrow Airport .

Can this be justified , given the current concerns for the planet ?

With the government giving the go-ahead for more planes, extra night time flights, new runways and terminals you will like it or lump it. You are not living in a democracy but a dictatorship. The views of the ordinary person in the street do not matter.

It only makes sense commercially to do this, because if they give allocated slots up they will lose millions of pounds in future revenue, sod the environment, who cares about that when millions of pounds are involved, certainly not the airlines, or maybe I am just a little cynical about todays world.
