Marks and Spencer has launched an investigation after a customer claimed a Muslim shop assistant refused to handle a Bible she was buying.

"It took me a while to realise what was happening and I felt humiliated that someone could censor what I was buying.

Mrs Friday, 69, said: "The young lady was absolutely fine with the other stuff I was buying but when it came to the Bible she refused to touch it and asked me to put it in the shopping bag myself.

Shop sources said the assistant may have been referring to her hands which were dirty and she did not want to touch the book for fear of marking it.

mmm.. Tricky cos there is only one side of the story here, but if it was simply the case of the shop assistant having dirty hands surely she shouldn't have handled the skirt the customer was buying either?

All this talk of Islam being bad etc really grates me.

Out of a billion or so muslims worldwide there are probably a thousand at the very most who may be deemed bad.

On the whole they are a tolerant, peaceful people and we really must accept that we do have differences and if we work together we can all live in perfect harmony.

Islam is the way forward. Linked to immigration, a rise of Islam in a rather secular Britain is a good thing.

Christianity should be wiped out because there are probably a greater number of fanatics and would be terrorists in that faith that have EVER been in Islam.

So to answer you question, without a shadow of doubt the old woman is a bewildered old bag. She must learn to accept cultural differences and befriend her fellow brother and sister.
