Can anyone explain what's happening and why etc? I'm watching the TV but I don't understand what's happened and whether it's good or bad for the country and what effect, if any, it will have on us.

The current leader of Pakistan is President Musharraf,he is the president and also the head of the armed forces there. He wants to be elected president again but the law courts over there say he will have to step down as head of the army to do so.He doesn't want to do this so has suspended the courts and declared a state of emergency.
I think that about sums it up.
