Free driving lessons - quite right too. We should also buy them a car, insure it for them, pay for the road tax, and for their petrol. |

It is not only immigrant drivers who need attention. Every day, hundreds of heavy lorries enter the country, many of them driven by people who have no understanding of English. The same thing happens in the reverse direction. I often see lorries from Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, the Czech Republic as well as the usual European countries. Can any non-Polish speaker imagine driving around Poland and being unable to read road signs or understand directions? I found it quite difficult enough when I was only walking and catching trams. |

(13:48 on Wed 10/Jan/07) Hmmm, i knew about the free driving lessons. they are also offering them minimum of 50% towards the cost of a new car if they trade in their old, more polluted, one which they bring with them. You may have noticed already the increase in foreign number plates in certain areas (not near ports). then a few weeks later, they have a brand new car... | |
