Even Transport for London, thinking that they were acting in a true PC fashion, by including a small Muslim character in their £2million campaign for schools and nurseries, were later forced to withdraw the cartoon.

No...it's a head scarf.
Nowt wrong with a hijab. I recall spending months wearing a balaclava in the classroom when I was a little un and nobody batted an eyelid
yes ,children don't like to be different .
As long as they are all allowed to- it would have solved the problem with that haircut that got a boy sent home.
Older English women used to wear head scarfs.
Cant see a problem to be honest
No..........I think people should mind their own business AOG !

Yes, I wore a balaclava as well, and jolly itchy they were too !
So did younger ones, ummm.
mikey, I had a lot of ENT problems when I was a kid and my mother was convinced that wearing a balaclava all day helped.
If Muslims think that they sexualise pre pubescent girls then, yes, they should.

Not sure where the DM gets it's 800 primary schools figure from. As of 2012, there were 16,818 primary schools in the U.K. But I don't suppose the average DM reader is too fussed about facts.

The short answer is no.
Why Danny?
What reason is there for a ban on the Hijab?
You can't sexualise a child by putting a head scarf on- that's an adult way of thinking. It's the hypocrisy I don't like. One minute they all have to look identical and appearance is everything. The next minute they change the rules so that they have a choice. They need to make their minds up.
A five year old wearing a hijab how does this affect your daily life...for me it means nothing!
Let em get on with it!
Have you read the article Danny? This is a Muslim woman explaining that making young girls wear a hijab is potentially sexualising them.
That is one woman's opinion.
When I was at junior school in the 60s some girls wore a hijab, some girls wore trousers under their skirts and dresses (when girls didn't wear trousers to school), some boys had their hair in a top knot/bun with a small piece of material covering it and a bangle on their wrist, some kids wore the Star of David round their necks and some kids wore a Cross.

There were no protests from parents or the media and we all played together.
Danny, then why did TfL drop their advertising campaign?
No idea ZM but if you are going to ban the hijab because it 'sexualies' girls, then should skirts be banned for the same reason.
