Last week the North Koreans were said to have ICBM capability to reach The States but unlikely to have nuclear warheads. Today the White House says they have 60 nuclear warheads that could be missile-launched. None of the mainstream media have yet explained why or how the narrative has changed.

It seems to depend on who's doing the posturing.
He's made a very bold statement of intent. Let's hope, like everything else, he's unable to follow it through.
Ditto the odious Mr Kim.
Sound like a Peter Laurie film
Lorre even

Red Laurie yellow Lorre.
zacs ; // Let's hope, like everything else, he's unable to follow it through. // Why would you hope for failure, is it because perhaps you are a bit of a loser and hate success, why would you not want him (or anybody else) to fail?

President Trump is doing all he can for the American people and as a result the economy is on fire with the stock market reaching new all time highs once every four days! In nearly every economic category the US economy is improving under President Trump. In addition, he has implemented numerous executive actions that he promised he would do when running for office. The US is in much better shape in only six months. Americans have hope again due to the real changes this President instituted from the economy to immigration.

Good points, well made. But how can the State Department say last week that the North Koreans are unlikely to have nuclear warheads for their ICBMs and today they brief that the NKs have 60?
Khandro, I'm hoping he fails in his threat to nuke NK. If you think that's a bad thing you need your bumps felt.

Trumpy: "We'll meet them with fire and fury like the world has never seen". What's he going to do, surpass Hiroshima? I just pray that the threat is intended as a warning to sickboy Kim and not a plan of action.
I actually misread that at first as having been said by Kim - they use remarkably similar hyperbolic language.

As far as the warheads are concerned, we have perhaps learnt to be sceptical when our governments assure us our enemies can nuke us in 45 minutes?
I don’t know the answer to your question, scooping, but I find Kimmy-The-Haircut very scary.
If he thinks he can rule what’s left of the world after he’s nuked it, from his opulent underground bunker, then I will happily lend him my ‘Threads’ DVD, and he can see what happened to the bigwigs of Sheffield when they were sent to safety.
It may look a bit dated now, but I’m sure the result will be the same.
The leader of NK Is not fit to run a kids party never mind a country, he's dealing with the wrong people by the threats to the US, japan should have responded when the missiles landed close to the country, that will not happen with the US, This idiot wants putting in his place before he does damage the worlds piece, and that's what he's doing.
I'm under the impression that the claim is that NK has managed to reduce the size of the warhead so it can be carried by the existing missiles. No idea how true or otherwise that is.
I saw on the news this morning that NK are threatening to send a missile to Guam.
If they do, that won't go down well.

Am wondering if that threat is to persuade their mates in China to lift the sanctions?
I like Jay Leno's comment,

//Tensions continue to mount in this North Korea situation. The U.S. has moved a Navy warship off the coast of the Korean Peninsula. Is that going to scare the North Koreans? If you really want to scare them, don't send a warship. Send a Carnival cruise ship.//

I hope that Trump steps back from the brink. Its just to dangerous at the moment. I also hope China is also doing its bit.
I wonder if this is what was meant by the idea of returning to the glorious 50s and 60s, etc, when the possibility of nuclear holocaust was surprisingly high. Nice to have rolled back all the failures of recent years when we were gradually removing that threat.
Latest news is that Kim says he will 'nuke' Guam (US territory)
Jim, //I wonder if this is what was meant by the idea of returning to the glorious 50s and 60s//

Who said that?
I really don't think you should bother taking my comment seriously, Naomi.
