To be fair no one can produce anything of him promising. However, expect this to be raised repeatedly at the next election. The opposition won't want young voters to fall for it again.
He never promised it. He just dropped a hint that it'd be something they'd do, and then did nothing to dispel that impression - until all the votes had been counted of course.

To be fair on him, it's only what ALL politicians do ALL of the time.

yes but like the bus it wont stop detractors banging on about it for ever.
I think I know at last what Trump was on about re "fake news". There was a similar long thread over the last couple of days and now this revamp. During both it has been made crystal clear - to all but the incorrigible - that there is not a shred of evidence that any such "promise" was ever made. None, other than what Labour would do once there was a Labour government in place!
I think I, too, might have to take to endless "twittering"!
Did not know Mr Cobyn had a bus, but I think some who post on here, are not quite the Ticket!.

Perhaps Corbyn should have pulled his MP's to one side instead of letting them tweet such things as

Jeremy Corbyn ''Labour could write off historic student debts/all those in early 20's with student debt #vote Labour''

Obviously the MP who tweeted this thought Jeremy was considering 'writing off' historic student debt.

Talbot, you present a quote which reads, ''Labour COULD write off historic student debts." (My upper-case italics)
It seems I have to return to the key point I made in my very first response to yesterday's thread; namely, that certain right-wingers seem to have a rather tenuous grasp on what some words in English actually mean!
Are you under the impression that there is no difference between 'could' and 'will'? If you and I had spoken about possibly meeting in a pub this evening and I had said, “I could be there,” would you take that to be a promise?
In addition, do you imagine that "was considering" is no different from "was definitely going to"?
A, I'm no right winger
B, I know the difference between 'could' and 'will'
C, Why say 'could' knowing that actually you 'couldn't'?
D, Ludwig's post @16:05 Mon is bang on the money
E, either you know that or you're no as bright as you like to think you are.

C, Why say 'could' knowing that actually you 'couldn't'?
I will also go back to my post on the earlier thread ..

You didn't appear to have a problem with 'Pledge/Promise
Are Corbyn's MP's on summat?

///Did not know Mr Cobyn had a bus///

Not sure who Mr Cobyn is, but if you meant Mr Corbyn, he has more than one,
