The 1951 convention on refugees must be redrafted so as to state that refugees fleeing for their lives should be given temporary refuge in a specified island/land supported & funded by the intentional community (not gullible rich countries like UK, Germany, Canada, Sweden, etc) until the circumstances (or dispute) of the country they came from are resolved or changed. In that way, only refugee genuinely fleeing for their lives will claim asylum in a third country.

Many asylum seekers (& large extended family members) who claim ‘prosecution & fear of death’ in their own country would inadvertently go on holidays to the country of their origin, after they were given 'indefinite leave to remain in UK; status by the Home Office.

It has also been estimated that 125 million females in Africa (like Gambia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya) have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM) or female ‘circumcision’. Education of the society in their homeland, rather than providing asylum should be the remedy in this situation.

Here is the list of British Overseas Territories
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Overseas_Territories
Apart from the British Antarctic Territory which is part of internationally administered Antarctica and the uninhabited islands , all VERY small with no means of supporting a population, they are all self administering and can decide who they allow in.
The smallest BOT and one with the second largest population is Gibraltar, technically it is part of the UK and even has an MP in Westminster who holds responsibility for it
Yet again you need to do some basic research before asking imbecilic questions!
normal day on AB then
linking FGM and resettlement of economic migrants and/or refugees AND promoting world peacce

//My basic suggestion is that ANY suitable refuge ISLAND that is run by INTERNATIONAL community is fine -//

sort of like the isle of Man ( erm men only I suppose )
or a little colder and further nrth - the Isle of Arran ? ( choices available and in both cases those living there arent human )

Oh I know ! Gruinyard Island - that is uninhabited and uninhabitable die to snthrax experiments in 1940 - problem solved

Which ones were you thinking of?

EDDIE51,

I already know Britain has 14 Oversees Territories i.e. - Akrotiri and Dhekelia, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British, Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Turks and Caicos.

Now there are also many Islands in the middle of nowhere for USA, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Philippines, etc, etc.

It was you that need to do research (& 'insert brain') before you rudely write.
Totally agree willbewhatiwill, what a rude person he is, even had the audacity to play the race card.

EDDIE, there is NO MP in Westminster representing Gibraltar. There may be ones who take a special interest in Gibraltar but they're not elected by Gibraltarians.

Got to love EDDIE AB's minister of misinformation.

Insert brain here and foot here.
Gibraltar would like to have an MP in Westminster ... and why not .......

Gibraltar has a representative in Westminster, not their own MP but one who represents its interests as well as being MP for her own constituency

EDDIE, Gibraltar is NOT "technically part of the UK": the MP in your link is president of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Gibraltar so he would be speaking in Parliament in that capacity as would previous presidents of that group. The president of the group, Lindsay Hoyle, is a man by the way, not a female MP.

Perhaps you need to heed your own advice about basic research?

Refugees wants to practice their way of life, culture, religion as usual (like they were doing in their failed state they come from). No thanks, as they can go back to where they came from to so behave.
