It looks bad but perhaps Trump will be able to brush this one up. But just to be clear: Trump Jr. has released emails himself, in which he openly suggested that he "loved" the idea that there was incriminating information to be made available to Trump about Clinton, and that he and Kushner went to a meeting set up with that in mind.
Doesn't matter if the meeting turned out to be a dud. He clearly was interested enough to go along on the off-chance. Even if it were a Sting Operation only it looks bad. Really, really bad.

I suspect Trump Snr and Jnr have had dealings with Russia and probably the Russian administration for years.
He just shouted down all arguments saying his favourite line of FAKE NEWS so loudly a lot of people believed him.
Trump the younger won't come out of this smelling of roses by any stretch of the imagination. I recon he will eventually (possibly within a week or two) fall on his sword for the sake of daddy dearest. As will Kushner. Mind you how that will affect Ivanka is anybodies guess.
But that's nepotism for you. Not that I'm interested enough to make a great effort to find out but I wonder if other administrations have had so many close family members in their inner circle.

Trump Jr went to a prearranged meeting with a Russian Lawyer in the expectation of being given illegally obtained & damaging information on the opponent in his Father's presidential campaign.
IT DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL if the meeting came to nothing, it is the UNDISPUTED FACT that it happened that has done the damage!

Trump Jr was his campaine manager and did what he did on behalf of his Dad!
If Trump had used a professional campaine manager instead of giving the job to his son, that manager would have had enough sense to avoid a Russian solicitor like the plague!
Now Trump is done it again, by letting his daughter sit in for him at the G20 summit. He obviously still not learnt that he is running the USA and not his family business.
