“…wander to somewhere along the route of the march. You'll both be very welcome and have an excellent time. :o)” Two or three years ago I was unfortunate enough to be “somewhere along the route of the march”, not wandering but trying to go about my business. I’m not sure whether or not I was welcome (I would like to hope I was not). This was because my...

Yes!
Yes.

Love happens here ♥

What a super message.

Why isn't there a 'Proud to be Straight' Parade?

Could it be that we are relaxed about the way we are, and don't need to constantly remind everyone of our Sexuality?
Oh yes!....The fun.....the colour.....the happiness and love.....

Bliss!...... :-)

Have a hug, AOG......xxx
If it had a detrimental impact upon London, I'm sure it would be scaled back. If it affects you personally, can you explain how it impacts upon you?
Whys should there be a "need" AOG ?

Every year, people seem to be enjoying themselves, so I am not sure why they can't continue ?
Well there are some, Mikey who don't really like to see others having fun and from some of the sad comments we see on this site Pride is not only fun....it's still needed.......x

Er!!!! Is it catching? :0)
You should go AOG, you'll go home feeling all fuzzy and loved :-)
pubs restaurants shops do a roaring trade nowt wrong with that, people in work doing their jobs of which i applaude. and people have a fun happy day....
Yes, sadly there is a *need*, but there shouldn't be one.

Perhaps if the LGBT community were able to be "relaxed about the way (they) are", they'd not feel the need for the parade. Unfortunately, many people still feel - I'll say "unsettled", to be polite - by their presence that it is necessary.

When those people wake up & realise it's the 21st century & that there's nothing wrong with being "different" (it's usually "straight" people that use that word, in a derogatory fashion), then the LGBT community mightn't feel the need to remind everyone that they exist.

Paradoxically, that would be a shame though, it's a colourful, happy, enjoyable time for everyone - or it *should* be.
Is it catching?

What...fun.....smiles....love and hugging....oh I hope so.....let's find out shall we.... ;-)....xxx
Ahhh.....the annual grump-fest which occurs on Pride March Day....

Instead of harumphing into your digital copy of the DM, AOG, take yourself and your good lady wife out into the glorious sunshine and if you are close enough, wander to somewhere along the route of the march. You'll both be very welcome and have an excellent time. :o)
It's too far for me to travel or I'd be there like a whippet up a drainpipe.
Been infected, Gness xoxoxoxoxo
Spot on, LiK......and it can be for everybody....

I once got lost in Bristol and accidentally joined in a Pride event....it was such a wonderful happy day.... :-)
Good on you, Donny.....and there's no cure now......enjoy!..xxxx :-)
Rod McKuen, the poet, said it's not who we love but that we love. So why shouldn't they march

I would think that everyone in this country today, know that they exist, hence my question.
