nice one, very nice!
haven't followed this all that closely, but Rangers, to my mind, didn't have a leg to stand on

Nope and just ended up costing more money to fight it!
All will have to take a massive pay cut to pay legal fees.
Am not a Rangers fan (or any other type of fan of football)
Bet that puts them out of the transfer season tho lol
'wanna come and play for Rangers mate?'
'Nah, you're only offering £500 a week, months back it was £20K'
Silly management at that club and has been silly for a very long time
So will this be the end for Rangers?
Not been a good couple of days for Rangers - knocked out of Europe by a mighty team ...

... of part-timers "the fourth best team in Luxembourg"

a tax dodge that didn't work out. I have some sympathy for them as they were probably just following accountants' advice (it's not like the football managers thought up a scheme like that).

I'm not sure about the "settlement opportunty" having run out for others - surely that ought to be suspended while the matter is still going through the courts?
Good decision. It seems theses days that the more money people make/have, they always want more, just greed.

A bit like them blokes involved with the Qatar football fix?
they weren't in great nick when Murray bought them, and have been seriously declining ever since he sold them to the most upstanding business-slug who has ever existed.
// The court's decision is not expected to have any material or financial impact on Rangers now as the club is owned by a different company. //

This will have no impact on Rangers, or their ability to pay or buy players.
HMRC are using the judgement as a test case, to persue other companies, not to persue Rangers.
Aside from the tax issue, the decline of Rangers FC left an already uncompetetive Scottish top flight even worse.

Celtic are just miles ahead of the pack with their historical Glasgow rivals floundering these days....
