I heard this live on PM yesterday ::

Much merriment was had by all, when Abbot suffered in a similar fashion, but Boris was just as bad....he came over as a complete pillock

he ought to have had the answers ready, ummmm - he's the foreign secretary, he's in the cabinet, he should have been there during the policy discussions - or they ought to have put up someone else to do the interview. Anyone can struggle in an interview if they don't know what's going to asked.
Awful interview but not in the same league as miss Diane's
//he came over as a complete pillock//
why is this in news?

Lol ... yeah it is nothing new, ael.

I don't have a problem with people unable to remember exact figures and having to look them up; but not knowing about whole areas that the government has been promoting as important just makes him look ... well, charmingly disorganised, I suppose. Can you hear him ruffling his hair at all?
Oh, come on Mikey! Even you must see that there's no comparison! Nice try though. :o)

Well said jno, although I would agree with the charmingly bit. He sounded as if he had one too many ports for lunch.
I always think he stutters his way through interviews but I like him nonetheless.
He IS a pillock and that bloody haystack of a hair style.....that is just affectation and if he needs to be taken seriously he needs to smarten himself up.
Perhaps he was ill with type6 amnesia?
It’s a laugh a minute with these politicians, isn’t it? What about that BBC interview where Jeremy Corbyn was lost for an answer about one of his manifesto pledges, and despite spending some time fumbling around with his computer, still didn’t find it. What a hoot! And him the party leader too!
"he came over as a complete pillock" ? WHATS NEW mikey , he is and always will be a complete pillock.
when he gets type 12 alopecia he'll be in trouble.

Ummm...I quite like Boris too, and it was embarrassing listening to him yesterday. Eddie Mair is a formidable interviewer, quite on a par with the Humph, and Boris should have been better prepared.

Not only could he not remember important details, he didn't even have any idea of what was in the Queens Speech.

I expect he will be seeing the Headmistress this morning, and he had better put a thick book down his pants !
He opened his mouth and gibberish came out, so what’s new
Diane Abbott sounded like a prize dip stick Boris Johnson sounded like a prize dip stick
He was just stalling, looking for an opening to tell the country that we're not leaving the EU after all.

Bottled it in the end. :)

Sounds to me like he didnt want to pre empt what was in the Queens speech, which as it turned out had jack in it.

I'm not sure I would class the whole interview as anything special from either side, bit of a non event.
Question Author
ymb...he was interviewed AFTER the Queens Speech, so how could he pre-empt it ?

It was clear that despite being present during the speech, and being one of May's key Ministers, he hadn't a clue what was in the speech.

Clueless, in fact.
Let's be fair, he had no idea what he was talking about ,;-) at least Diane Abbott is not been punted as next PM ,
