/// Troops from the Counter Revolutionary Warfare Wing have reportedly been drafted for the operation. ///

I know some on here have suspected a future revolution, but I didn't know we already have special troops to deal with it, if one happens.

Odd to go public with the information but what do I know.

Some of the comments under the article are sickening.
why on earth report this ,how dangerous for the men involved.
The whole Daily Mail website is sickening! I never look at links to that paper. Is there another link, please?
Surely that article would put genuine homeless people at risk!

Always pleased to oblige.

The source of the Mail's story.
Thanks, AOG. I won't bother. :-)
"A military source told the Mirror..."
"One source said..."
"A military source added..."

Obviously a high-ranking individual's comments, so it must be true & I presume the reporting of the operation is some kind of clever double/triple disinformation bluff kind of thingy designed to lull the terrorists/public into a sense of false/true security/panic/calm.

Yes, now I understand, it's a good & cunning plan.

You must remove that sand from your eyes Tilly.

But tell me, why do you bother contributing, if you do not wish to know what it is all about?

Presuming this is true AOG, what do you think about the reporting of it?
Why on earth would the military go to the papers with this?

To make us feel more secure?

It's seems like a poor decision. Better to have these counter terrorist operations kept under wraps surely?
SP its the Mirror and Mail reporting it - i would take it with a huge pinch of salt!!
AOG, I was hoping for a link to a reputable news outlet. That's why I responded.

My eyes are beautifully clear.
The top rated comments under the story:

1. Great idea to blow their cover then??!!

2. Thanks for letting the terrorists know.

3. So, give all our security secrets away why don't you..

4. Thanks for that DM. Well done you. I D I O T S

5. Who's side are you on Daily Mail? To reveal this is a gift to the terrorists. Please think before you expose military secrets.

6. Loose lips sink ships. If this is the case why are you reporting it and more to the point....who on Earth told you this? More made up nonsense by a 'reporter.

7. Whatever are the strategic tactics of the SAS to protect civilians on the streets, I don't think it is particularly intelligent to announce them through the media to which the extremists also have access - why expose what should be a matter of security? Foolish.

8. So now all homeless people are targets .......

9. Should you really be printing this story?

10. Good old DM, information on this scale should remain a secret , you now have told every to be killers to look out for tramps and cleaners before attacking . You may as well go and show who they are now that you have blown their secret or surprise response.

Let's assume the story is true...it's a dumb idea to report it. It's just really , really, really dumb.
If it is true it may well have been 'leaked' because they knew the secret was out anyway. I'm not surprised in the least and I dont have a problems with them doing it (acting as harolds that is)
Does it really matter that much if the story is out?
I don't know Jim , I don't sleep on the streets so am unlikely to be mistaken for an undercover soldier.
Stupidity to report it i.m.o.. Individuals with ill-intent may now begin attacking genuinely homeless.
Just extraordinary...
The military should operate on a need to know basis, most of which the public don't need to know.
