Dark Justice are certainly making good headway into this problem.

Their activities have led to 42 convictions and so far seen 21 men jailed.

It's hard not to admire the rounding up of these horrible people, but care must be taken to ensure it's done right.
It all looks good in the article, but no one controls the vigilantes except themselves. We don't wish to encourage unauthorised gangs doing their own thing. So, no.
No vigilantes are never a good idea because no-one is aware of their activities except themselves so they cannot be moderated adequately.
Agree with Kval and OG.
21 men jailed who would otherwise be actually abusing children.

That has to be a good thing doesn't it?
if they are properly policed. You could see some getting caught up who have no ties to paedophilia or gangs.
From the link:-

'I can tell you at this point in time we are from an organisation called Dark Justice.

'There will be no hostilities or violence towards yourself.

Is that a 100% guarantee?
How?
Is that a 100% guarantee?

No it isn't but I won't be losing any sleep over it.
They are videoing it to hand to the police, so you would have to be very stupid to start knocking hell out of your target.
Ah yes vigilante's are the way forward that is when they don't confuse dr's and child abusers!!
Leave the detective work to the police - that is what they are paid to do!
One said that he thought he may jave had a knife.

What if he'd used it and DJ reacted and possibly in worse fashion?

Accusations of being over zealous etc...
on reflection better to let the police deal with these matters, they are better resourced surely?
I wondered who would trot out the paediatrician line.

These scumbags are online actively seeking out children, imo they are better off in jail.
Talbot these vigilantes have not got a scooby and are dangerous and should leave it to the professionals.
Providing it is just information-gathering like this. Surely the law already monitors and vetos attacking suspects?
Talbot - //I wondered who would trot out the paediatrician line. //

Referring to the incident as a 'trotted out line' does not invalidate the point being made - that vigilantes are not always the brightest people, and self- righteousness does not provide you with a ticket to take the law into your own hands.

//These scumbags are online actively seeking out children, imo they are better off in jail. //

No-one would argue that point - but self-appointed attention-seekers can often pervert the course of justice and mean that offenders escape the very justice these people claim to seek.
Most doctors will be fine as long as they don't try to arrange meetings with children in car parks.
Islay: "Leave the detective work to the police - that is what they are paid to do! " - if only, this lot seem to be getting better results. I'm not generally a fan of vigilante type action but this crew do seem to be doing a public service.
Could what they are doing be classed as entrapment?
