We shouldn’t give a 'you-know-what' for what the EU leaders are saying about the UK and the USA. Merkel is worried primarily about her own political future and about the future of her pet project, the EU. Specifically, she's worried about how the remaining EU nations can plug the £13,000,000,000.00 gap in their finances once the UK leaves.
It's risible that she thinks we are no longer, “reliable Allies” simply because we want our own sovereignty back after it was recklessly and dishonestly given away by our leaders who had knowingly mislead the general public as the real intentions of the European Project that started with the EEC. Political and monetary union were always the goal yet they were deliberately hidden from the general public (and lied about when discussed) by dishonest politicians (of all colours) both within the UK and elsewhere. Those of them that remain alive should should hang their heads in shame.
And for Merkel to now label the UK as an 'unreliable ally' is insulting in the extreme. Are there no depths to which this self-serving, anti-democratic woman will not stoop?
