Mr Sopell has just been on 10pm News 'live' from Washington DC. In the background the trees in full bloom, the sky blue, the sun beating down. He wore a lovely suit. Unfortunately I was just watching TV from Washington DC. It is warm but cloudy and overcast. No sun. The trees are not in full leaf. The weather man warned of a chill tonight. Was he there?

Another time they had a chap live from Hollywood discussing block busters. He wore a suit. It was sunny and light. It was actually night when he broadcast and the whole thing ruined by the digital CGI screen in the background shuddering and getting all pixelated and the palm trees falling apart as he spoke. Beside people in LA do NOT wear suits its so like old dudes thing. Was he there?

Why do the BBC do this?

I didn't see it, but if he was in a studio they often use "false" backgrounds. Never mind that, what was the news that you think might be fake?

On BBC1? Yeah, it probably was Fake News. They're not there to give a news overview; simply to promote their lefty political agenda
Never listen to the Biased Broadcasting Corporations propaganda.
It's pretty obvious that the people who criticise the BBC never watch or listen to it: too much info there :-)
I repeat: what was the item of news that you think was fake?
Where do people who criticise the BBC get their unbiased news from?
He was probably there, in a studio? It's quite common to do this to make it a little more entertaining.

You haven't actually mentioned what news was fake? Or was the news itself fine, just that you reckon he might not have been out in the sunshine? If it's the second one, what on earth are you on about? :)

No idea why so many hate the BBC really, the news aspect is usually very good for a broad overview.
Good question Garaman, probably brietbart or infowars.
In fairness, Nick Robinson is a good example of the centre-right being represented at the Beeb.

At least they're being boo'd from both sides :)
I've said this before and I'll say it again: the head of BBC News is James Harding: he's a Tory

The actual news was fairly trite. It was along the lines that President Trump had senior politicians in the Oval Office and they were signing some papers. Mr Soppel was still smarting from President Trump's throwing him out of a press conference. So he was not in Washington at all as the snow on the lawn indicated as seen from the Oval Office window - quite in contrast to the blue sunny skies and full leafed trees behind Mr Soppell. If the BBC lie about his presence if Washington what else do they lie about? If a minor and trite background green screen image is totally precious to their maintaining their 1980s power shoulder pad image of NUMBER ONE NEWS CHANNEL IN THE WORLD then what is actually true? Why the charade? It is not a free channel. I pay for it. I do not pay for lies.

What I will do is ask Mr Soppel directly.
Good idea.
