Persaonlly I could not give a monkeys but it does seem the PC brigade are out again.

Given Cadbury's (kraft) eggs are now pretty foul anyway (no pun intended) are they getting desperate for sales? Are they Halal compatible does anyone know?

John Cadbury was a Quaker and didn't celebrate Easter sunday, according to the news a few moments ago.
Not sure what that's got to do with the post , but i thought it quite interesting.
Perhaps they decided that chocolate eggs really have nothing to do with Easter and that most of the little darlings that turn up to this won't have a clue about what Easter is supposed to signify and therefore will not give a flying fig.
So what has this to do with the PC brigade again?

A Storm in an Egg Cup imo.
serious enough i suppose for Mrs May to get involved.
//Join us over the Easter Holidays, to run through muddy woodlands, around mystical lakes and alongside nature trails on a Cadbury Egg Hunt. //

So 'Easter' not totally airbrushed, a commercial decision no doubt and I hope many get great pleasure from the hunts.
the PC brigade seems to be Theresa May, then? Outraged that the NT is celebrating a pagan festival without pretending it's a Christian one (based no doubt on the numerous mentions of chocolate eggs in the Bible).

It was selling the company to the Americans that was spitting on the grave of John Cadbury, but no politician bothered to mention it at the time, and they could save their breath now.

It's the 'Winters Lights' hysteria all over again. Easter is NOTHING to do with chocolate eggs produced by a company still capitalising on the name of a Quaker who didn't celebrate Easter anyway. No-one has kidnapped or airbrushed Easter and I'm shocked that the Archbishop of York is behaving like an idiot, less so that Teresa May is stoking the fires, but seriously can't everyone just grow up, 'Egg hunt'/ 'Easter Egg hunt' it doesn't MATTER which.
as Jno says, Easter (Eostre) and the symbolic egg predate Christianity. The Creme eggs haven’t been sold as “Easter Eggs” for some years (were they ever?).
I also think that the Archbishop of York is behaving like an idiot.

Still, great publicity for Cadbury's and the National Trust!
Echoes of the Soviet Union. An angel for the top of the Christmas tree was called "End of Year Winged figurine".
There is already a thread on this subject ::::

YMF doesnt give a monkeys...
but thank god for all of us - he still goes on poooooooosting !

anyone notice a Cadbury is a Kraft egg so any easter discussion goes out of the window

no - oops it has popped back

and yes s/o has noticed the Quakers ( of whom Cadbury was one but Kraft wasnt) dont celebrate Easter - well they are Christian and the spokesmen cleverly adjusted that to - Quakers celebrate Easter the every day the year round

and has anyone noticed - YMF neednt as he doesnt give a tass - that French for Easter is Paques - and Italian Pascali or something
and Latin Paschus and Greek Paschoi - n jewish - pass over

so ... why is Easter , Easter ? because the christians in anglo saxon england took over the festival of Estre.....
and said - we need a spring festival of renewal for paschal celebrations ( ha didnt use the word Easter !) - oh we know ! we will use Estre ....

so Easter is to do with renewal and eggs and so on
but very little to do with paschal celebrations

and yes I do think they should do the easter bit
as we dont have Diwali eggs or egg hunt
or oh we are having an eid-al-fitr egg hunt ......

oops woofie did- - - - mention estre
sozza woofie - have a good Easter !
To refer to the second part of the OP, years ago I used to adore Cadbury's chocolate and thought it the best of all brands. A few months back I treated myself to a small bar and it was vile. Half of it ended up in the bin. A sad comedown for what was once an excellent product.

You want me to stop posting then PPP? Where wuld you post your drivel then?

Sorry Mickey I dont do chatterbank.

Why would Theresa May be PC? The problem is Cadbury's loosing the word 'Easter' to appease minorities (although I suspect it is more to do with being offended on behalf of others going on here)
Rowlocks YMB....all you have done is to add to an obvious anti-Muslim thread....hook, line and sinker !
Being offended would be ridiculous - it's an 'Egg Hunt' and it's at Easter and it's business.

Halal doesn't apply in this case.
Mamy....keep quoting that Common Sense...the Usual Suspects will get the picture eventually !
