Coal not dole works if the alternative being proposed is buying coal from someone else anyway. It's not the same when the alternative is trying to find a cleaner way of producing power.

One may discuss the appropriateness of calling CO2 a pollutant, but for sure too much released into the atmosphere is not helpful to keeping the planet fit for life; or at least us.

There is no need to spend ages drafting legislation and running it through those pesky argumentative types in Congress, just write out an Executive Order (back in Trump Tower it was called sending out an instruction memo) and the job is done. What's all the fuss about?

It remains to be seen if President Trumps relentlessly simplistic responses to age-old complex issues will actually work out.

Vulcan - I'm not sure what grounds need to be in place for the Impeachment process to be invoked, but I am pretty sure that Congress is not going to sit back and see itself ignored continually because the President is bringing business practices from his former life into the Americal government system - specifically, "I say - you do - no discussion - no argument - end of."

I have said since Day One that that wonderfully 'refreshing' approach borne of Mr Trump never having held political office was not going to work - and I believe that it won't, for long.
