Serious question. Do you study details of the budget?

I myself vaguely look at some of the headline figures, but really - does it make any material difference to your day to day lives?

Not to mine.
maybe to mine, will have to see what they come up with
It can do and it has done on occasions in the past. But this one doesn't really light any fires does it ?
Nope, I have no monkey to give, and it makes sod all difference to my life.
Only if my tax code will change or ciggies go up
Lol@ Prudie. Only because I feel the same..........ohh and lay of my tipple chancellor.
Nope
I agree Prudie....if "ciggies" were to go up, there would be some good coming out of this budget. Packs will rise by 35p....not nearly enough though.

Bad news if you are self-employed, and very little to improve the lot of the very poor.
Same old, same old. Screw the smoker, screw the drinker. After fifty odd years I have got used to it.
Bad news for self employed? About time they started paying the same as the rest of us...
I'm self employed and I was paying a fortune in NI. However they are I believe simplifying the system (which to be honest I have never understood)
But no, to answer the question. Although it's quite fun reading the 'Mr and Mrs Bloggs of Bogchester will be £9 a year worse off' type summaries the next day
nope doesn't really affect me
Considering we're owned by Arabs, Chinese, Indians and Russians, what an ineffectual politician like Mr Hammond has to say means not very much.
Have negotiations been started with the third world re our membership yet?

I thought this might be the case.

If the economy were a massive cruise liner, then budgets are like someone tapping the tiller a few times.
These budgets always comes with the obligatory forecasts / predictions , in order to justify the chancellors figures .
These predictions/ forecasts often turn out to be rubbish .

To answer your question - i'll listen out for the headline figures , but that's far as it will go .

I can't get excited by Politics and Economics anyway .

I'm only ever interested in what affects my family's standard of living.

People may say this is selfish, and it possibly is, but I would be willing to bet that this is what most people think.

If the family down the road is adversely affected by the budget, but my family is not, I really couldn't give a tinker's cuss.
Mikey as we are all addicts according to you it's not very humane to price our drug out of the market is it.
Prudie....but it works. And it would work even better if a Chancellor were to have the guts to put a wacking great increase on once in a while, instead of this "2% above Retail Price Index "

Haven't even looked at it tbh,
comes under lack of interest, we'll survive it.
Mikey, motes and eyes spring to mind.
