/// Asked about the gun sign, Mr O'Keeffe accused Mr Vine of racial stereotyping the defendant because she is black. ///

/// He said: 'I suggest to you that you have racially stereotyped her as a black person and that gesture is associated with black people.' ///

I couldn't give a gnats chuff what colour or race this 'orrible woman. She is not in Court for being black....she is there before she behaved like a dangerously spoilt brat. I am guessing that her Brief knows that the case is hopeless, as its all on film, so he/she is just tring the race card as a last attempt, and I hope the Judge castigates her for so doing.

Of course I can believe it.

A defence counsel is paid to provide anything and everything that will defend his client, and this is merely an example of that.

The counsel is going to suggest - note that he carefully uses legal lkangauge, not accusing Mr Vine of stereotyping - such an offence because it can then be heard in the court. It doesn't matter if he pursues the claim or not - the statement has been heard by the judge, and the defence counsel hopes that does its job - presenting a negative image of Mr Vine.

It's little difficult to argue that the gesture was not made, since it appears on the photograph in the link, but as I say, the point is merely to provide a negative image of Mr Vine, which is the counsel's job so to do.
He only has to have heard the radio show, to already have a negative impression of Vine.

or to have watched Eggheads
In the video, the gun comment is made when they are at the junction, not when she is out the car and pointing as in the photo in the Mail. There are no images of her making a gun gesture in the video.

I wonder if it would have even held the same negative image, if the roles had been reversed, and his defence stated that Mr Vine had been racially stereotyped as a white person?
i see no racial relevance at all. Completely radio rental woman, Due care all day long, possible dangerous driving, possible, threatening behaviour. Not sure how race comes into this at all.

It matters not, but as you must already know it always carries a massive amount of weight, used in a certain direction.
The sooner they lock up this clearly racist nutter the better ... maybe I will then start and listen to radio 2 again.
Which racist nutter?
Talbot was using a comic device whereby you think he's talking about one person but the last part reveals your assumption to be wrong and that he was talking about the other person. The little tinker.
So which person Zac?
OMG. The radio 2 bit gives a clue.

That's not too hard, Jeremy Vine broadcasts on Radio 2 and he happens to be white.

So it must be him.
Seen nothing in his behaviour which deserves that title.
It was an attempt at humour Danny.
I thought danny was a member of the 'quizzes and puzzles' hierarchy?
Ard work innit.
I do stray occasionally Talbot :-)
Do I need send for andy-hughes to explain how irony and sarcasm does not always .... well you know what I mean.

possibly.
You must excuse me for being dim, I've been up a long time.
