You cannot make it up! Some just go out of their way to find offence!

What happened to the healthy eating "fiver day" plan. I bet if these "heads" were offered £1million in new fivers they would suddenly find them delicious.
I don't think it's anything to do with being offended. They just have principles and are sticking to them.
Are they checking every note and coin given to them in case some messy eater dribbled fat off their bacon butty? Is it even legal to refuse them, they're not forgeries? Apparently in the manufacture of the whole lot of fivers the fat from less than half a cow is involved.

""[Tallow's] an animal product isn't it? Our whole business is based around not having anything like that on the premises," - really they have no animal products on the premises, no milk for tea and coffee? Cobras I bet I could find animal products in there.
Question Author
yes zebo it is legal to refuse.
There's no way to prove that unless you're going to visit the place. It's you who seems to be offended.
Vegetarian cafe wants free advertising, I wonder if they know that their sign may contain animal products from the marker pen, not to mention all the faeces, germs etc and paper notes and coins handled buy a butcher and passed on.

//Are they checking every note and coin given to them in case some messy eater dribbled fat off their bacon butty//
Hardly likely to have bacon butty's in a vegetarian cafe.

//Are they checking every note and coin given to them in case some messy eater dribbled fat off their bacon butty//
Hardly likely to have bacon butty's in a vegetarian cafe.//

Im guessing he means the coins were passed on from some one who had a bacon butty, do you know where your change has been.?

Dave.
I presume they don't think they'll lose much custom as most customers will be like minded.

Their business, their choice.
I really don't see an issue with it. I bet it doesn't last too long.
Question Author
so they have tea/coffee with no milk?? do they know the mince in mince pies is cooked in animal product? Do they have leather shoes, hand bags? Do they have any plastic on the premises?
They won't use animal milk.....there are various substitutes available (ask Mrs TGT, she'll have seen them on the supermarket shelves).

Pastry can be made without animal products....as can mincemeat.

As vegans, they will not wear/use leather of other animal by-products.

You haven't done much research on this, have you?
Question Author
you must have cows milk for tea, soya makes it all wrong.
Question Author
but they have plastic jack?? that is the ultimate animal product.
How do I know?
It could be all wood and metal.....and cotton/linen tablecloths.
Those granite underpants are going to chafe a bit ...
The cafe is vegetarian not vegan.
Very good piece here on plastics and veganism.

well their sign was painted with paint derived from oil. the Sign they wrote was written with a marker pen and they are plastic. You see the trouble with absolute declarations is that you are open to people finding exceptions to your own rules.
