//Ms Abbott, as well as dismissing millions of voters as racist, was criticised for ignoring the British public’s legitimate concerns about migration both before and after this summer’s EU referendum. //

She and Jeremy Corbyn make a fine pair. Neither of them get it.

Hateful, twisted witch of a woman. She and her like will ensure that Labour have a very long time in the wilderness.
all pretty standard stuff from the Hypocrite in chief, order up another punnet.
I think someone should tell her that it wasn't only Tories that voted brexit.

The in-fighting within the Labour Party is bad enough, but with people like her on board, so disconnected from the electorate, it really is no surprise that they're in the wilderness.
I cannot stand that woman. Two faced do as I say not as I do
that's Socialism bertrum
Very much seems that they don't Naomi. Or rather, that they only represent their very small slice of the UK.
Well at least she's not afraid to tell it how she sees it. Or something.
He said Ms Abbott, who is today celebrating her 63rd birthday, had made which comments were “an insult to many former Labour voters.”

I bet the postman's bag will be a little lighter this year..

"less foreign-looking people on their streets"

I think whether they look more or less foreign isn't the point. (She could always advise on a good plastic surgeon if she thinks that will help.) The idea is that there are fewer of them, allowing us to better control what occurs inside our borders.

It seems to me to be the sort of drivel an extremist remainer, who has no desire to support their own nations, would spout. I think one has to keep an eye on this type of individual but not be too reactive to their trolling.

No stranger to controversy of course:-

Comments on race

In 1988 Abbott claimed, at a black studies conference in Philadelphia, that "the British invented racism."[55]

In 1996, Abbott attracted widespread criticism when she claimed that at her local hospital "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" were unsuitable as nurses because they had "never met a black person before".[56] Abbott's apology came as Marc Wadsworth, executive member of the Anti-Racist Alliance, who is himself half Finnish, pointed out that the present Miss Finland, Lola Odusoga, is black, of Nigerian and Finnish descent. "She's a black Finn like me," he said. Abbott's position was supported by fellow Labour MP Bernie Grant: "Bringing someone here from Finland who has never seen a black person before and expecting them to have to have some empathy with black people is nonsense. Scandinavian people don't know black people—they probably don't know how to take their temperature".[57][58]

On 4 January 2012, Abbott tweeted that: "White people love playing 'divide and rule' We should not play their game", which again led to widespread criticism including accusations of racism.[59] Only after being told by the Labour Party leadership that the comment was unacceptable did she apologise for "any offence caused", claiming that she had not intended to "make generalisations about white people".[60][61] The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg called her comments a "stupid and crass generalisation". Nadhim Zahawi, Conservative MP, said: "This is racism. If this was a white member of Parliament saying that all black people want to do bad things to us he would have resigned within the hour or been sacked."[62] Members of the public lodged complaints but the Metropolitan Police stated that no investigation would be launched and no charges would be brought against her, saying she "did not commit a criminal offence."[63]

In January 2012 Abbott suggested that taxi drivers discriminate on racial grounds, tweeting that she was "Dubious of black people claiming they’ve never experienced racism. Ever tried hailing a taxi I always wonder?"[64]

Apparently, Jeremy Corbyn and Dianne Abbott are erstwhile lovers, - the mind boggles!
I think we would need to hear what she said in the fringe meeting. In the video with Marr the issue seems a lot calmer than the newspaper headline suggests. Although she seems to be making too much of a) a rise in clashes between racists and immigrants since the referendum, which was always occurring at a small level anyway, and b) the obvious fact that those who were racists would obviously vote for the option of having fewer arrive here; but that hardly makes that option racist. It is an invalid thing to imply.

ag, from Bernie Grant: //Scandinavian people don't know black people—they probably don't know how to take their temperature".//

The mind boggles!
Naomi - the scene at the end of a famous hospital Carry on Film readily springs to mind!!
I can’t see why that clip if causing a stir. She said, though rather awkwardly, that a lot who voted for Brexit would prefer to see fewer foreigners on the streets. I think that is true.
I am seriously beginning to wonder if Mr Corbyn and associates are just being mischievous in their current outpourings.

Mr Corbyn's notion that we can have unlimited immigration, and he will budget to provide homes schools and hospitals for incoming individuals literally beggars belief.

Can he seriously think that such an approach is going to win him enough votes to form a government?

If he does, then he is even more deluded that was first thought.

Unless of course, he is simply pulling the tiger's tail through sheer devilment - I can think of not other explanation.
Garaman - //I can’t see why that clip if causing a stir. She said, though rather awkwardly, that a lot who voted for Brexit would prefer to see fewer foreigners on the streets. I think that is true. //

Actually, what she said was, she believes that people who voted for Brexit wanted to see fewer 'foreign-looking' people on their streets.

The inference there is that Brexit voters are racist, because they are singling out 'foreign-looking' people - and that means that Brexit voters must be looking at people of colour - since there is no other way I am aware of, of judging people to be 'foreign-looking'.

The finer point Ms Abbott is reaching for, which is of course, arrant nonsense - is that Brexit voters only want people of colour not to come here in uncontrolled numbers.

The reality is that part of the reason for people voting for Brexit is to stem the tide of uncontrolled immigration of any people - the colour of their skin is absolutely not an issue!

Ms Abbott has a vested interest in missing that seriously obvious point - because she does not believe in controlled immigration, and by default, she likes to play the race card, however inappropriately.
