Strange how a couple of days ago some were saying there is more to the EU vote than just immigration, but now having lost the vote out comes their immigration race card.

Well they can all go to Scotland then! Nicola embraces immigration but has never experienced and tolerated the inordinate amount that London has always endured.
On Friday morning I was in my local corner shop. ( run very well for many years by Pakistani Muslims) and I overheard a conversation by a group of Mums just back from taking their kids to school.
One was loudly saying '' We are out of the EU now, so all you immigrants will have to go home!''. The rest of the group expressed their agreement and approval by cheering and clapping . The final straw was one of the group then asking the shopkeeper if she could have 20 cigarettes on credit until pay day. To which he cheerfully agreed.
To a huge majority of the population the referendum was ALL about 'getting rid of immigrants' They will soon realise how misguided they were!
The vast majority voted to regulate/ control swarms of economic chancers overwhelming our social infrastructure taking
all and contributing nothing. The lying remain voters
had deliberately spread misinformation that existing immigrants who thrive and prosper would be deported.I voted as much for your Asian shopkeepers good as I did my family. Most hard working
Asians who benefit this country do not want their standard of living ruined by uncontrolled immigration than I do!!!!
Don't include me in that. I voted out because I didn't want to be dictated to by Johnny foreigner, no other reason.

Perhaps they will not be allowed to forget it, especially if they read the Guardian.

@Postdog

I'm like you.

Except I don't couch it in generalisms like "Johnny foreigner", I say "Germans and French".

Although the enlargement countries, standing to gain, could club together and outvote all the net contributor countries, if they wanted to, so maybe they are what we are really escaping?

Retrocop, spot on, I was having an Indian last night and talking to the owner about it (we know each other really well and he knows all his customers really well) and how we both voted, the subject of immigration only came into it at the very end and how we need to control it so we can allow more people from all over the world and not just Europe.

Dave.
MIL is 80 years old and voted out - when asked why it was because 'she was fed up with all the bloody immigrants coming here' when pointed out that she too was an immigrant she stated 'oh no I married an English man'!!

You couldn't make it up!
@eddie . bet you were very proud of you're country . :-(

That sounds unbelievable .... Where the *** do you live?
No tin hats or anything here, all seems safe.
hang on ...

'' We are out of the EU now, so all you immigrants will have to go home!''.

She said it directly to the shopkeeper?
Really?
We still let non whites sit next to us whites on the bus round here.
Might it not be possible that the ladies were having a laugh, and the shopkeeper joined in?
It does sound unbelievable. I'm good friends with our local shop keepers who happen to be Indian and they've said they've never experienced racism (as far as they know)
Should I send Mrs JtH back over Hadrian's wall just to be on the safe side?
I would.
Hadrian's Wall is some 60 miles south of Scotland.
Yes ... Is that how she got in?
