MIGRANTS MOAN FOOD IS TOO SPICY

Migrants awaiting deportation in a removal centre are forcing caterers to plan a range of menus as they argue over the spiciness of the food.

Those waiting at the Brook House Immigration Removal Centre at Gatwick Airport are from countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Albania.

A report by the Independent Monitoring Board released last week raised the problem of spicy food at the G4S-run centre.

It states: 'There may be some sixty nationalities to please. Size of food portions, dishes under-spiced or over-spiced, sometimes the cooking itself, are all subjects for complaint.'

Among the entries include complaints that food was 'too hot' and 'too bland'.

A source said: 'There are many arguments over the food served up here, mainly over the use of chillies, pepper and other spices.'

The Home Office did not comment on the report.

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.”

― John Lydgate

Such is life and always will be.
Too many have cumin the first place.

(There speaks a sage.)
I prefer Abe Lincoln's quote Mamy.

"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
Yes, a good one - John Lydgate has had many imitators.

These two 'British' human traffickers, if find guilty should have the maximum sentence thrown at them, as an example to others.

And if even that seems light then the law should now be changed to make it more severe.

During WW2 if they had been British and smuggling in German agents, they would have received a death sentence as traitors.

Oh, how we had a back-bone in those far-off days?

Who said "don't bite of the hand that feeds you"?
Question Author
off
//The origin of the phrase ‘never bites the hand that feeds you’ isn’t known. One of the first times it was seen in print was during the 18th century, when political writer Edmund Burke said “having looked to government for bread, on the first scarcity they will turn and bite the hand that fed them.” The term is believed to be hundreds of years old.//

Thanks, even though hundreds of years old, still most appropriate don't you think?
Definitely food for thought.
Why not just let them eat cake?

At least they're being fed, if they don't like it, don't eat it.

I wonder what the menu was like on the boat over?
If they are all fed in the same canteen, at roughly the same time, can't they just swap? those who find it too spicy can swap with those who want spicy food if they find theirs bland?

Apart from this food issue, what is more serious is the fact that these crossings etc have been happening over a period of time but we have not heard much about them.

This was touched on in part yesterday, in particular Chichester Marins, which has been publicised.

We are being invaded. Have they all been security and disease checked to protect the British people? I despair at what this country will be like in a few years.
Don't know about the 'Jungle', but weeks and weeks ago a voluntary group of French ladies, who had been providing a hot meal in Calais, we mightily offended by having their cous-cous complained a out as not spicy enough. Hope they took their pans home.
To answer you TTG, is easy

These people will have taken all the work, being paid in low wages.
They would have use the streets of Britain as Toilets, spreading illnesses all over the country.
British people would not be able to get into hospital, or their children into schools.
In fact there will be no white people here as they will be extinct.
Just look at the picture in the remain leaflet, on 'the benefits of EU membership ' of a ''typical British family '', and to prove it, they have on the next page, what looks like a white couple and their child, walking away, as they cannot get housing, as its full up with the trash that's coming over on those boats.

Our government should be ashamed of themselves.
