Apparently this is not the first time that Britain First has been chucked out of Leicester, but this time they had returned for a spot of Brexit campaigning on Saturday and set up one table just to handout their leaflets.

/// City mayor Sir Peter Soulsby told Britain First chairman Paul Golding head to head: "This is a multi racial city and you are not welcome here. ///

/// "I have a mandate from 77,000 voters and I say on their behalf, leave Leicester." ///

Would that be the whole 77,000 Sir Peter?

/// Hospital worker Noormohammed Geloo, 23 from Highfields said: "All people are welcome in Leicester as long as they respect one another. ///

That is so accommodating of you Mr Geloo.

/// Plumber Ali Akbar, 29, of Belgrave Road, who also challenged Mr Golding face to face, said: "I have a white auntie. The vast majority of Muslims love this country. ///

Ah yes that old one again "some of my best friends are white".

Ali Akbar, lol. Wouldn't like to be in a queue when they call his name out.
I can understand the mayor not wanting them there, but if they are obeying the law and simply campaigning for Brexit I think it a mistake to stamp on their right to do so.

But on the bright side they are probably going to make more waverers make the awful mistake of voting for 'remain' than 'exit', so better for all if they weren't there anyway.
Nimbyism strikes again.

I've not of Sir Peter being equally outspoken when BF visited S.Yorks or Kent for example.
If he was voted in, he must abase himself for the Muslim vote. This sort of stunt plays very well with the half-wits.
Why would you expect a Leicester Mayor to comment when BF visits other towns or cities?
Winning the Premiership has given Leicester international recognition.

Wouldn't want the city's reputation tarnishing would we?!
TCL > Why would you expect a Leicester Mayor to comment when BF visits other towns or cities?

Why not? He obviously gets so worked up at theie existence.

Boris,Sadiq all have/had plenty to say on issues outside the capital.
"International recognition"? What did they win?
Stuey - now don't tell me Canada is too focused on ice hockey!
Why not? He obviously gets so worked up at theie existence.

you're just making that up. He's the mayor of Leicester, he's acting on behalf of Leicester, and he's said so. People on the internet are of course free to spout off anonymously about any issue, any place, any time. But Sir Peter is sticking to his own brief, which is exactly what he should do.
I'm glad to see that someone is facing up to BF. They are a nasty, fascist organisation, filled with people who used to belong to the BNP. Their leader, Mr Golding is an idiot and they should be shunned everywhere they go.
Everybody it seems except me:)
Jno > He's the mayor of Leicester, he's acting on behalf of Leicester, and he's said so...

Is he? Oh yes, all 77,000 of course...
mikey, jno, BF are a properly constituted political party registered with the electoral commission.

nobody is saying that you have to agree with them. but are you now proposing a sliding scale of free speech, in which those you particularly disagree with should be denied a platform?
Frankly BF haven't done themselves any favours have they ?

Look at the debacle when they, led by Jayda Frensen stormed into a Halal butchers - not exactly someone you'd want to have around your Town/City.
"He's the mayor of Leicester, he's acting on behalf of Leicester,..."

Quite so. But I didn't think the Mayor's remit extended to deciding who does and does not visit the city.
Mush, correct. Somebody should tell the mayor who thinks he has a mandate to curb free speech in his role.
Would the mayor have gone head to head with Anjem Choudhary if he had visited the city? Hmmmm.
Having been made aware of people's opposition on one weekend, BF decide that it would be a good idea to turn up on the following weekend and wonder why that ended in a similar manner.

Dismissing their opposition as 'smelly left wing trash' is just the sort of statesman-like response that BF are becoming known for...
Mush....no, of course not. I was very much for Nick Griffin appearing in Question Times a few years ago, as it exposed him and his nasty Party for what they were.

But what happened in Leicester was different. BF and their moronic supporters were in danger of causing serious public order difficulties, and that is why they were ordered to leave by the Police. Golding was arrested following his appearance in Leicester, for breaches of his bail conditions, according to this Independant link :

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/britain-first-leader-paul-golding-arrested-during-party-campaign-in-leicester-a7054166.html

Golding was reported as saying "We are here peacefully to hand out our leaflets"

BF never does anything peacefully. Their purpose is to cause as much trouble and racial strife as possible. They should expect to be treated with contempt everywhere they go.
