Not unless any others considering joining the force were only doing so to be as big an idiot.
I am sure there are a fair few examples of serving police officers being accused or convicted of various sex crime, does that mean they are typical?
Question Author
THECORBYLOON

I did not say that this was typical or any mention of sex crimes.

Just that this officer is now one less in the very short supply of officers representing Black and ethnic ones, when some are complaining regarding the lack of diversity in some professions.
No.

/// No. ///

In this particular case it has, one less officer to fill the void.
The West Midlands Force may well be one 'diverse' officer down...however, it hasn't necessarily damaged the 'quest'.
You made no mention of the number of officers being reduced and using the phrase "back one step" suggests you are referring to the process. I used the example of officers and sex crimes to illustrate the fact that the actions of one or of a few are not representative of the whole.
Is the West Midlands force one of those with very few non-white officers?
Personally, I wouldn't let any Muslims in the Army, Police, Airport Security, Baggage Handling, anywhere, in fact, where people's safety might be jeopardised. They've proven time & time again they can't be trusted.
Does that include hospitals, doctors, dentists drivers etc?
AOG

Mathematically, it puts the quest for diversity in the police service back one step, but I don't think it's a fatal blow.
For me it would certainly include this doctor:

Perhaps background checks should be carried out rather more stringently.
SVEJK, would you ban recruitment of Roman Catholics in Ulster because of the actions of IRA/Sinn Féin?
THECORBYLOON, that's a void argument. I've lost track of the number of times I've said that Islam cannot be compared to Roman Catholicism.
Certainly, Corby. I wouldn't want my life in the hands of some doctor who's going to run off and join ISIS next week. He'd obviously hate me. (and the Hippocratic Oath means nothing to him)

And where did I state that it had?

But it has put it back one step.
SVEJK, is there any evidence that the former NHS doctor did any harm to a patient whilst in the UK?
Surely THECORBYLOON is comparing one set of terrorists with another set of terrorists?

I lived through the IRA's mainland bombing campaign through the 70s and 80s, but not once did I think of aligning Catholics with terrorists.

It seems...reductive.
You asked a question and I answered that question, it hasn't put the 'quest for Diversity' back at all.
AOG

In your question, you asked "Does this put the quest...etc?"

I believe that jackthehat was responding to that.
