They probably moved it through fear of being sued! Ridiculous!!
Lost sight on my right side suddenly and this happened to me a lot

people walked into me from my blind side I mean
( I also walked into other things but that would be less remarkable )

waiting on a concourse - ha ! wait by a rubbish bin and yes I noticed people were either walking into me or missing me and hittinng the bin

now I know the explanation - thx

[ o and the dog noticed I was partially blind and started leading me around. he didnt put his lead on tho ]]
I previously thought they were just thick
as in " oo there is a rubbish bin - memo: must miss it"
and then afterwards ... 'oops ... didnt "
I could understand it if people had sight issues. To walk into it because they were texting serves them right.
If your eyes work then use them to see where you are going, mine don't work at all well and I have had multiple fractures due to arguments with street furniture.

If you need to text, then pause a while - simple really.

Lovely piece of sculpture too.
It seems appropriate that these complaining numskulls are getting bonked on the head by a pair of hands whilst carelessly using their hands.
Hang on, look at the picture, the gap is too narrow so no wonder people were bashing their heads on it.

Didn't anyone do a risk assessment first?
Leave the statue where it is, and place a hard-hat rental station on both on both sides of it.
There was a line in a book I read years ago that seems appropriate as the statue is on a Christian site," God never told anybody to be stupid".
How are they going to learn not to walk into statues if some fool thinks they must be protected from their own stupidity by paying to move the statue ?

This signifies a lot of what's wrong with society. Always society's responsibility not the individual's to look out for the individual.
They need to get a grip....
What a daft place to put a statue...Leave it where it is put a bench under it and divert the path around it.
These texters need to be given the heads up...

my thought was the same as Hopkirk's. I also wondered how many of the accidents happened in bad light/after dark, since it only seems to have been there over winter (I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I visited in September, because I would have hit my head on it).
Regardless of the fact it can accommodate someone 6' 4" - I would have walked round it ;-)

///These enormous works are part of a major two stage show, Relationships: An exhibition by Sophie Ryder, which opened on Friday 12 February and runs until 3 July.///
It's hideous anyway, what idiot would put it in front of such classically beautiful architecture.
It is quite obvious that some people are fretting and wringing their hands over this situation...It's a strange, strange world we live in, master Jack.
