Ok let all and sundry Bomb Daesh and really I couldn't care less if we join in but would we make any difference? I mean uncle tom cobbly and all are bombing anyway so could we do something else useful to help? Too many Cooks? I just get the impression that Dave is feeling left out and wants to be in the "in crowd"!

I think he feels some obligation. As he indicated we really shouldn't be content to leave others to fight on our behalf.
Fight?
It boils down to two things doesn't it? Would it make a difference, and/or should we be "doing our bit"

I'm not sure it would make a difference: it depends what the actual plan is. Extra bombing raids would not necessarily be advisable, or help, for various reasons, one of which of course being the "crowded skies" above Syria.
On the other hand, should we not be doing some of the work, and giving the others a "rest"

Of course, Dave can't really sell it as such: he has to push the "in Britain's interests" line harder than perhaps it ought to be pushed.

We definitely should not be looking to start fighting against Assad's forces. Syria needs, desperately, a ceasefire, and that would only make matters worse for the ordinary people.
One ought to stop and ask who is already there on the ground providing up to the minute drone strikes and other target rich environments to the bombers!!
Probably the SAS.

Perzactly or SRR
I'm all for using drones to take out specific targets but bombing cities and killing innocent people is counter-productive in this theatre.
Barnes Wallace devised a 'barrel bomb'during WW2 and Assad is using them still. Could the RAF deliver one to the Syrian tyrant and so open the way to peace and democracy in that benighted land?
I can agree to an extent.Costs a lot of money to lob a load of ordnance about indescriminateley. That is why they would probably have F.A.C on the ground.
It is not widely published that many U.S. airstrikes are aborted and return with bomb loads because targets are obscured or to risky with regard to collateral damage.
Fight with drones but NOT our men on the ground!
Even if they managed to wipe out every single
IS/ISIL/ISIS/DAESH/Caliphate/Califig (or whatever today’s fashionable name is) member, supporter and hanger-on in Syria, these people are still living, plotting and acting within the civilised world, and free to move around, as proven by the recent atrocities in Paris.

And Mr. Cameron claims he wants to work toward a political solution in the region. I fail to see how this can happen when they live their lives by their religion and there are so many different religious factions squabbling with each other and vying for a place at the trough.
It hasn’t worked too well in Egypt so far.

I agree . Western politics and civilisation are not compatible with tribal, feudal in fighting.
You still havnt learnt then Sandy.

Toppling a Middle Eastern tyrant is not a good idea.

Can we make a difference, yes I believe we can.
Is it just me, are expressions like 'theatre' to describe a piece of land where people are being killed, or 'collateral damage' to describe innocent civilians being killed by being in the wrong place at the wrong time - cold, and deeply unfeeling?

@ andy-hughes

I suggest you look up 'theatre' in your dictionary
It is just you. Most other people are up to speed with modern jargon and have feelings for the victims families who have their heads removed or are thrown from a tower block. Don't lose any sleep over it.
E.T.O. Well used in modern History books.
Do I get this right-a year ago Cameron wanted to bomb Assad and now he wants to bomb the enemies of Assad ?
