I wouldn't trust any government to sell paper clips at a car boot sale.

They have a plss poor history of sell-offs. Look how much that plonker Gordon Brown sold our gold reserves for? The millennium dome and all the Olympic sports venues sold to business for a fraction of the costs.

Nothing new here. Just done quietly
Yet another British industry that has been hived off to the lowest bidder.

Its the thin edge of the wedge...we can all look forward higher prices, worst services and the end of the universal licence. Attila the Hen sold off all the family silver but even she stopped short of privatising the Royal Mail.
Gordon the Moron sold off the family gold at rock bottom. :-)

There is still one old lady that they will not dare to flog off - that's the Post Office .

Oh hang on ....Fast forward to 20??
Bazile...the Post Office is the only thing left that isn't nailed down, so expect the Tories to privatise that asap....and make a pigs ear of it, just like they did with the Royal Mail...its just a matter of time.
Why on earth would anyone want to hang onto the Royal Mail?

It's finished, I give it 10 years then paperless will be pretty much 100%.

Might as well get what you can while you can.
Royal Mail ceased to be important when the internet really kicked in.

When did you last write a letter?
I posted a birthday card this morning and millions of us, will post 100,000's
of millions of Xmas cards soon. We will always need the Post Office and Royal mail.
I use the royal mail for all my parcels . Royal Mail will survive because they give a good parcel service, far better than these courier services. Please tell me how I can send my small parcels through the internet? LOL!
